Canna Have Another Bite?:

A Spring Menu Preview with Green Panther Chef

About a week ago my taste buds packed a bag and took a trip without me! While they traversed Asia and Africa through 7 delicious courses,  I enjoyed the slow wave of heady relaxation that subtly took me on another type of trip (if you catch my drift).  I had the great pleasure of enjoying my first cannabis-infused dining experience with Green Panther Chef.

With each bite I was transported.  First, adrift a spicy Papaya Salad accompanied by a fried oyster, then across seas with a Fisherman’s Stew.  Along the way, scooped up scallops and devoured prawns atop a gooey Togarashi Rice Cake.  Cleansed my palette for more adventure with a tasty Grilled Mango Granita with just enough kick from the Serrano to get back to land.  Before our last stop, we grazed on a white salad with Cyote and Jicama; and to end the tasty continental tour, a Malva Pudding to sweetly bid us adieu.  This international trip was certainly the highlight of my Sunday Funday!

As a cannabis- user who typically inhales and very rarely consumes, I was excited to have the opportunity to tread in the unfamiliar waters of the edible experience. Even more exciting and right up my alley, the fine dining twist! So who is Green Panther Chef you’re probably wondering!?

Meet Jazmine “Chef Jazz” Moore, founder and Executive Chef of Green Panther Chef.  After being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2006, Jazmine’s struggle to combat the symptoms and prescription side effects, led her to begin exploring and experimenting with the use of cannabis and CBD.  After educating herself on various strains, honing her method, and tremendous trial and error, Jazmine saw a decrease in her anxiety, an escape from her meds, and in full remission by 2018.  Jazmine wanted to share her unique knowledge by providing friends and family with an elevated edible dining experience.  After the passing of Initiative 71, a voter-approved ballot initiative legalizing cannabis use in the District, Jazmine was able to offer her edible experience to a wider audience.  By infusing her homeopathic roots, culinary training, and cannabis and CBD knowledge, Green Panther Chef was born.   Since then, Green Panther Chef has expanded its offerings to include culinary CBD products, cooking classes, and a debut cookbook: More than a Cannabis Cookbook, now available for purchase.

If you’re a cannabis- enthusiast like myself, and want to elevate- pun intended- your dining experience, the Green Panther Chef experience has you covered. So grab a group of friends, set the scene, and give the gift of green!
